About Modak
Modak Ltd. is a privately owned, family-run manufacturer established in 1991 in the town of Kardzhali, south-central Bulgaria (EU), with long-term operational stability and direct accountability at management level. Today, Modak operates a 1,600 m² covered production only facility and employs 140 people across production, quality control, finishing, and logistics.
Modak is a Bulgarian Cut–Make–Trim (CMT) garment manufacturer structured for bulk output, repeat programs, and reliable execution for brands, uniform programs, and sourcing agencies. Our priority is consistent quality, documentation-driven communication, and predictable delivery against agreed specifications.
How we operate
Our work is organized around clear technical requirements and structured planning. We focus on:
- documentation-driven communication and traceable requirements,
- quality control checkpoints during production and finishing,
- continuous improvement and efficient manufacturing methods,
- timely execution of agreed specifications.
For scalability, we work with a small network of long-term CMT partner workshops with dedicated capacity for Modak programs. All partner output follows our documentation standards and QC checkpoints, and is verified through final inspection and packing under Modak control before shipment.
We do not outsource responsibility—capacity is scaled only where planning, documentation, and quality control remain centralized.
Where required, we support tender-style workflows and agency coordination, including NDA-based cooperation.
Product focus
We manufacture men’s and women’s programs across casualwear, sportswear and leisurewear, with the capability to support public tender uniform programs (army & police). Experience across programs
Modak manufactures for international fashion brands and supports public tender uniform programs (army & police) for European institutions, including projects delivered for European markets such as Switzerland and Germany.
Our client base is primarily European. Germany is our main market, followed by the UK and Bulgaria, with additional long-term customers in Austria and Denmark. The distribution can vary depending on active programs and tender cycles.
Location and logistics (Kardzhali, Bulgaria — EU)
Kardzhali supports efficient logistics within Europe. The city is approximately 2.5 hours from Sofia and Sofia Airport, close to the Turkey border, and provides practical access to regional routes serving Black Sea ports and Thessaloniki (Greece). This location helps reduce transit complexity while keeping production within the EU. Shipping is typically arranged by the client (EXW/FCA by agreement), while Modak supports packing, labeling, and shipment preparation.
